If you are a fan of musical theater then you will probably recognize many jewish songs from different eras in many of the theaters playing shows around the world right now with actors of all ages and nationalities, even if they are not jewish songs.
Jewish songs are the folk era of a long standing generation that has been around for many many years and has special holidays, landmarks, music, books, plays, movies and all of the other things that make the culture what it is today. Many people do not favor jewish songs because they do not feel like they have a good rhythm and they do not like the tune. This dislike is furthered by their love for other types of music, such as country, rock and roll, pop, bubble gum pop, top forty tunes, hip hop and rap. Many people do not like rap in particular because they feel like it has nothing to offer them as the music of cultures like jewish songs do, or african songs or egyptian songs or american folk songs or canadian songs or british songs or irish songs or scottish songs or anything else that goes along with it.
Many people do not like jewish songs because they do not understand the culture from which they come, but that is clearly ignorant because they simply have not taken the time to learn about the culture which the jewish songs come from. They do not know the richness of the culture or its holidays or its special events and traditions and people, especially their people, because it is ultimately people that make a culture what it is. They form the language and make the history. They write the history so another generation can read it someday and know their struggles and jewish songs help write that history for the jewish culture.
